Patch 1.5 details for Battlefield 2142
A lot of people are still playing Battlefield 2142 (or waiting for a good reason to pick it up again), and the 1.5 patch is more then welcome.
With a lot of tweaks, more options, two new maps and official widescreen support the patch seems to add a lot to its community members.

As well as a number of bug fixes and tweaks based on community feedback we are going to be releasing two new maps created by community members. Wake Island makes its return to Battlefield PC thanks to the guys at Sir. Community and a map which you may have heard of called Anzio will be appearing with a name change as Operation Shingle created by Jason Brice. We are also bringing a No Vehicles option to a number of 2142 maps for those players who want to fight it out on foot as well as allowing you to access 16:9 and 16:10 resolutions for those widescreen monitors. We also heard your cries for movement in pods to be re-introduced on transport ship escape pods so we have been working on giving that back to you while still limiting pod surfing use.
Always nice to see a company patch their game, even when it is already out for a while :)In other news:

Yes, but that's not in the title. And seems to be more of a spelling error than a typo. A horribly common one.

best game in the world keep upgrading
I agree but to some extent, I like the fact that EA likes to keep their games somewhat "up to date" but I think that they need to find some other way to patch games in stead of just posting "here's the new patch" and a link in-game to their website. Why not create a new automatic (which of course will be uninstall-able and/or unable-able^^, thus not interfering with their obvious policy to give you the choice of whether or not you want to update your game) patching software like in so many other games. This will, if not for everyone at least personally, remove a HUGE amount of irritation.
