Patch for GTA IV on its way

Good news for those who have to deal with irritating crashes and error messages in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV for PC. The developer has announced that the most welcome patch is on its way.

Altough it is estimated that only one percent of players experiences problems, the errors and crashes are considerd to be severe, as witnessed by the many complains on various sites.

The patch has already been delivered by Rockstar Games and is now undergoing the acceptation process at Microsoft, since it's a Windows Live game.

The patch contains a variety of fixes including:

# A fix to the crash after legal screen that some German customers were reporting.
# Numerous improvements to the video editor: Smarter naming of videos, improved rendering quality, better FX during replays
# Fix to bowling while using certain sensitive mice
# Fix for ATI 1900 shadows
# Overall savings to memory
# Graphic improvements to particle systems and mirrors
# Multiplayer character settings are preserved
# Support for DirectInput controllers.

A solution to the MMA10 problem has not been found yet, the community is counted upon to provide more information.

UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE, I TOO ARE PART OF THAT 1% THAT RESC10 ERROR IS A FUCKING BITCH. I JUST GOT TOLD THAT IT IS A GRAPHICS CARD FAILURE AND THAT YOU NEED TO UPGRADE THAT CARD, I.E. I HAVE THE GEFORCE GO 7600 AND THE GAME REQUIRES THE 7900 . YOU MAY BE ABLE TO TWEAK YOUR EXISTING CARD. LET ME KNOW. IT SUCKS AS I HAVE LAPTOP AND CANT CHANGE EM

hello, i also got the resc10 problem but most of the time i can play for 1 or 2 hours and then it crashes/freeses. i already installed the patches for windows live and gta4 but no succes. i also downloaded the latest framework: 3.5 sp1...and did that work? NO!!!
i have a 9800gt from nvidia(1gb ddr3)not possible to run out off video memory but ok.... i've played with the settings of the card but also without succes... , GAMING AMD MPQ9550i - AOPEN QF50D - AMD PHENOM QUAD 9550-64 ASUS M2A-VM HDMi - 4GB DDR2 - HDD 640GB - Multi DVD-RW - C .nice game but the stupid error drives me crazy!!!! only 1% my ass... everybody got problems with the game!!!
