PlayStation Home available this year

Home director Jack Buser has announced that the virtual world of Home will be opened for everybody this year.

Last week invitations to the closed beta were given out and yesterday even more people should have also been invited. Buser did tell that the closed beta will have to shut down soon for the open beta.

Like we've said, we're excited about moving PlayStation Home into its open beta stage this year. Once we make the move to open beta, everyone will have access to PlayStation Home. PlayStation Home is nearing the final stages of our closed beta. Last week we successfully moved to our 1.0 client, which places us on schedule for the launch of open beta this year.

After some delays, it seems that players will soon finally be able to walk around in the free virtual world.
