Playstation 3 gets in-game XMB and trophies

He didn't really explain the function of the trophies, but chances are high that it will be the counterpart of the Xbox 360 achievements.
We’re also happy to officially report that the 2.40 system software update for PS3 will include “XMB” access in-game. The update will also include “trophies,” an exciting new feature that we’ll be providing more details on soon, as well as some other new enhancements.

Reading deep into that paragraph, the trophy feature is still unexplained, no details are released. If no details are released, I would find it safe to assume that this is not coming for at least a week or two minimum...
