Quake IV multiplayer at Quakecon
Yesterday morning, gamers in North Dallas had the opportunity to celebrate the release of the Doom III Xbox version at a Game Rush store. Among some id Software developers signing copies and giving away goodies, CEO Todd Hollenshead was present.
After hailing the Xbox game, Hollenstead talked about the upcoming PC expansion Resurrection of Evil and announced that a playable multiplayer version of Quake IV will be available at Quakecon, the annual id-sponsored event that takes place between August 11 and 14 in Dallas and celebrates its tenth birthday this year.
Quake IV, developed by Raven Software, is highly anticipated to fill the gap for fast-paced competitive 1st-person shooters since the multiplayer part in Doom III and Painkiller hasn't taken off. So far, only a few screenshots have been made available. Unless E3 brings a surprise, August will be the game's first public showing of the gameplay itself.

Graphics are cool but if the game does not play well.....whats the point? Esp with all the config commands. I sure hope the levels are not all dark again. Why does Id have to let Raven Ware take controll?
