Rock Band does it with Fender
MTV Games, Harmonix (that stopped working on Guitar Hero) and Electronic Arts have announced that they made a deal with Fender for their music game Rock Band. This means you will soon be able to play the game with a replica of the legendary Stratocaster in your hands.
For AlterEgo and other rock freaks that have passed the perishable date: there are also agreements with Roland Corporation and BOSS, known for their synthesizers and pedals.
Who owns a Guitar Hero guitar will be able to use it, but will have to miss some features of the Stratocaster. The makers also revealed there will be a long and expansive solo campaign for those who don't like multiplayer, and that they have a creative solution for people who are scared of lag spoiling their online experience.
By the end of this year you will be able to start your own rock band on the PS3 and the Xbox 360!
"Our approach to the design of the Rock Band peripherals has been driven by a desire to give players as authentic a musical experience as possible," Harmonix president and co-founder Alex Rigopulos told GameSpot. "The Stratocaster is arguably the most recognizable and iconic model of guitar in all of rock and roll, so it seemed like the natural choice. It's also just a gorgeous instrument. Additionally, the folks at Fender immediately understood what we're trying to accomplish with this game and were enthusiastic about partnering with us in the service of that vision."
