I dont believe they NEEDED microsoft. Gears of War is a good game. They could have made a gears of war $800 system that did nothing but run gears of war and still probably sold thousands. (To rich fanboys like yourself)

Why do these 'topics' always end up as petty squabbles?

Okay, as a Ps3 owner I am going to go out on a limb here and be HONEST. Gears of War is incredible, it is the first shoot 'em up in years that's made me all exited and giddy - sure it sucks we Ps3 folk won't get it, but then again Xbox 360 isn't going to get Resistance: Fall of Man which is equally pretty, equally fun (if not a little more sissy).

Xbox 360 and Ps3 is the new Megadrive vs Nes story, and look what happened there. Nothing. It died out when someone else brought a new console out, enter Playstation One. Then MS brought the Xbox out, now Nintendo have the Wii and before long someone else will bring out another truely amazing console, with loads of cool games etc. etc. etc.

It's the way of gaming. Get over it, don't waste time slagging each other off in these forums.

Gears of War is probably one of the best action games I've ever played. And I'm pulling gaming experience from the first time I hooked up a Calico at the age of 3. I've been playing shooters sense Wolfenstein 3-D and I build SLi gaming rigs. For the money (cost of 360 and Gears of War) the graphics and the game play rival a lot of high end desktop systems. I remember popping GoW in and saying,"Where the f**k did they put the graphics card?" PS3 is a powerful machine, but GoW fully utilizes the 360. It's a great game.
