Although Nintendo president Saturo Iwata stated that the successor to the Wii would need more than just HD, the rumours about a new console from the company just keep popping up.

Today the guys over at Videogamer.com received the following word from "an employee at a major international publisher":
Of course this is just rumour & speculation, exactly the reaction from Nintendo when contacted about this, but adding HD and "launching" a Wii+ or something similar could be called a "new platform". Eventhough it isn't a completely new platform.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.
