SCi to be taken over?

predators out for Lara

Rumours are floating around that SCi is about to be eaten and that Warner, Infogrames (Atari) and Ubisoft are the predators on the lure. At least, that's what the Guardian is reporting.

At the end of February the company said it needed to raise £50m after the costs of scrapping a number of computer games and making an £80m half year loss. Potential bidders include Time Warner - which bought a 10% stake in the business for 504p a year ago - and French groups Infogrames and Ubisoft.

It's not the first time rumours about SCi (parent of Eidos) being taken over surface but with the company's results not being all too great lately, the chances of this actually happening are getting bigger by the minute.
