SEGA doubtful about the Wii's future

Posted on Friday, 15 June 2007 by Rian, source: Gamesindustry
Scott Steinberg of SEGA mentioned he is "concerned" about the future of the Wii. The console will start looking dated very soon since the graphics aren't what we'd call next-gen and developers haven't even reached the full potential of the Xbox360 and PS3.

"How much value can developers and creative folks get out of this wrist motion two years from now, or 5 years from now, or 10 years from now?" Steinberg said. "How can they design products that aren't too derivative of what's already out there?"

Steinberg is confident that PlayStation 3 will ultimately win the war. We'll see...

What he doesn't understand is that people buying Wii don't give a rat's ass about fancy graphics. Wii has always looked outdated, and if its going to look a tiny bit more outdated doesn't change a thing.

I agree with the "Don't take advice from Sega" part.

They weren't exactly very good with consoles, so what the hell are they doing making predictions and handing out advice and asslicking Sony...oh wait, I know why :P
