SEGA takes a hit in last quarter
SEGA announced that they made a loss of about 109 million dollars in their last financial quarter, which ended on June, 30. Main reasons were decreasing sales, increasing operating costs and the missing of real blockbuster titles.
The Conduit, an FPS-title for the Wii which had quite the hype, was able to sell 150.000 copies in the first three months, which isn't bad if you know that the game was only out for a week in the US at that moment.
Virtua Tennis 2009 did it even better with 790.000 sold copies. SEGA also added that their biggest profit currently comes from Europe and that the Wii is currently leading their sales, followed by the Playstation 3 and finally the Xbox 360.
In upcoming Fall they will release Alpha Protocol and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, and chances are that the last one will sell like crazy if you look at the success of its predecessor.
