Second Life movie coming up from Gore Verbinski
After Bioshock, Gore Verbinski has now set his eyes on yet another game to make a movie about: Second Life. Verbinski and Universal have acquired the rights of a 2007 Wall Street Journal article about the impact of the game on the real life of players and will make that into a movie.
The article by Alexandra Alter focuses on a married man who spends as many as 20 hours a day on a computer, existing through an avatar who is a thriving, musclebound entrepreneur. In reality, he is a diabetic, chain-smoking 53-year-old.
