Second Sight got too little interest to justify a sequel

Karl Hilton, former member of Free Radical Design and currently working at Crytek UK, has said in a retrospective of Second Sight that interest in the game isn't big enough to justify a sequel:

"Overall it didn’t generate sufficient interest for us to feel it was worth making a sequel," Hilton states. "We had some ideas ready, but we decided it didn’t have any momentum as a new franchise.
The rights on Second Sight have gone over to Crytek UK but for now it seems there aren't any plans to do anything with it.If you're interested in the retrospective, check it out here.
