Sega signs new rts from Petroglyph

Posted on Monday, 12 September 2005 by Ryuken, source: Blues
Sega has announced that it has secured the exclusive rights to publish a new real-time strategy game from Petroglyph Games (which are still working on the Star Wars rts Empire at War).

Petroglyph consists of several ex-Westwood employees. This deal with Sega allows them to create their own franchise, which will be set in a modern military/sci-fi environment.

Nice, as the report itself says, this only proves more that Sega is really trying to make a name for itself on the PC platform as well.

The latest I heard was that C&C 3 was put on hold in favour of Red Alert 3 (the now departed Mark Skaggs from EALA announced that). But EALA seems very busy with Battle for Middle-Earth 2 now so...

The C&C franchise is copyright EA, so Petroglyph cannot make it unless they have some kind of deal with them.
