Sega of America president Simon Jeffrey has told in an interview that Sega is far from stopping it's PS2-support. On the contrary, he expects to Sony to sell a lot more of the console in the next 2 to 3 years.

They are definitly loyal to the platform, trust it and thus they promise to keep on developing for the most popular previous generation console until it is no more.

“This generation of hardware will have longer legs than any previous generation, and that’s definitely healthy for the industry.

“We expect Sony to price manage the PS2’s shelf life for another two or three years at least. PS2 high profile titles, especially ‘wide market’ and licensed titles, will absolutely be part of the Sega portfolio going forwards.”
