Shane Kim retires at Microsoft

"Fat Promotion"

A year and some months ago, Phil Spencer got to take on the role of general manager at Microsoft Games Studios. Microsoft has now announced he's received a new promotion and can call himself now the Corporate Vice President of that same department. The devs reporting to him released - amongst other things - Gears of War 2 and Fable 2, while Halo 3: ODST and Alan Wake are still upcoming.

The previous boss, Don Mattrick, left the company in June to become COO at competitor Electronic Arts.

Microsoft Game Studios is part of the Interactive Entertainment Business of the American giant and also there some changes are happening as Shane Kim, vice president of Strategy & Business Development, has announced his retirement this Fall, 19 years after he started with the company. He wants to spend more time with his family and friends.
