Short bit of Protoss in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty
Posted on Monday, 4 January 2010 by Speed, source: battle.net
Fans of the Protoss won't be left out in the cold entirely with the release of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.
Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed a "mini campaign" for part one of the RTS in which the Sons of Aiur make their appearance. The single player will mostly consist of playing with the Terrans, but you'll get a small bit of time action with the Protoss.

StarCraft II: The Wings of Liberty is set to arrive on PC still this year. Sequel StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void will focus more on the Protoss.

This part of the campaign mode is of course way shorter than the Terran part, but it is very fun to have a very different play style to add even more variety to the game. I am sure every Protoss fan will love this part of the Campaign!
That being said, the Protoss mini-campaign will not prepare you for the multiplayer as Protoss, you won't be using all units or getting to know buildings and upgrades. In general, even for Terran, it is not the objective of the single player to show how to play the game effectively, it is to tell a story and do a lot of fun things, that would not be possible in multiplayer.
She also added that the campaign won't be a real preparation to the multiplayer but all factions will be available from the start. The Challenges, some sort of mini-missions, are on the other hand developed to get to know the units and their playing style. That being said, the Protoss mini-campaign will not prepare you for the multiplayer as Protoss, you won't be using all units or getting to know buildings and upgrades.
