Siegfried no longer central in Soul Calibur reeks

Soul Calibur director Daishi Odashima has unveiled that Siegfried will no longer be central in the weapons-based fighter's new iteration.
The news broke through a NamcoBandai employee who made a couple of tweets:

“The main character for the new game will not be Siegfried. … All I can say is he/she will be deeply involved with the two swords,”
The still not formally announced sequel also got a budget increase recently:“My recent work is to get a higher budget for the game from the company!”
The Soul Calibur series has a large amount of fans who through a petition made it clear to Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada that they wanted a new sequel. Little later NamcoBandai greenlit the project but we're still waiting for an official announcement. In other news:
