SimCity 5 in development ?

IGN has word that Maxis' general manager was quoted on French television to have said that SimCity 5 is under development.
However, although this would be good news, the people from IGN contacted Maxis in the US who wouldn't confirm the story

Our contacts within Maxis said they "are focused on shipping The Sims 2 at this time." They went on to say, "to read anything into Luc Barthelet's comments is incorrect." Naturally, Maxis wouldn't abandon such a profitable and popular franchise and "are always looking at iterating" their brands. Still, according to the folks on the inside, "any speculation as to SimCity 5 is premature."
