Sims 2 don't install on pc with cd writing soft ?
It seems that some people at EA don't really like CD Burning programs and The Sims 2 is one of the games that may not install if you have such software.

I get a CD/DVD Emulation Software Detected error.
Answer
This error is caused by CD Emulator conflicting with the game. Please make sure to uninstall any emulation software you have installed such as:
Clone CD
Nero
Roxio
If this doesn't help or you are unaware of any emulation software, you should first try ending background tasks and processes.
