Smackdown vs Raw gets new DLC purchase system

Posted on Tuesday, 12 October 2010 by Speed, source: Fragland
THQ has sent out a press release detailing their DLC plans for WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 and the biggest thing is without a doubt Fan Axxess. Yes, that's not a typo, it's Axxess with two times "x".

This will cost you 800 MS Points on X360 or $9,99 on PSN and will give you access to "select" DLC for free.

The first batch of DLC will include WWE legends British Bulldog and Lex Luger as well as the Nexus’ Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel and David Otunga, along extra costumes for Shaun Michaels and Shad and a WWE NXT arena. If you were to buy all of this seperately, you would have to pay 560 MS points or $6.99.

The second batch will have extra costumes for John Cena, Undertaker and CM Punk as well as a playable WCW arena which together would come down to a price of 240 MS points or $2.99.

Count those two together and you come to 800 MS Points or $9,98. But with Fan Axxess it's "free" and Fan Axxess only costs you... oh wait... 800 MS Points or $9,99.

So what does Fan Axxess really give you for free? Well, you get the WWE Superstar Attribute Customizer which normally would cost 80 MS Points or $0,99 and instant access to all unlockable content which you can also buy for... 80 MS Points or $0,99. Or you can just play the game and get everything unlocked.
“The Fan Axxess program for WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 offers consumers a very attractive value proposition to significantly enhance the virtual WWE experience,” said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President, Core Games, THQ. “We have some of the most passionate fans in the industry, and we are pleased to offer them an opportunity to access premium gameplay content, customization features and recognition for their loyalty for one price point.”
Yup, Fan Axxess (with two "x"-s) sure sounds like a deal to me!
