In a few days the new update of Xbox Live is to arrive with the necessary new features. Some of those were already known, but now Microsoft released some more details.

There is for instance the family timer with which certain profiles' gaming time can be limited, the Xbox Originals which are Xbox games that are downloadable at 2000 points each and of course the possibility to view the friends list of your friends.

Yesterday it was also announced that there will be an Xbox Live Arcade Hits programme, which features XBLA games that are reduced in price. E.g. Bankshot Billiards 2 and Lumines LIVE! will be cheaper (800 instead of 1200 points) while Marble Blast Ultra, Zuma Deluxe and Small Arms will cost 400 points.

On top of that you will get a kind of newsticker like on CNN with info and updates of of Microsoft and you will be able to give more info in your profile. Finally the interface will be improved, more video-codecs (Divx!) will be supported and movie previews can be watched in full screen.
