Fantasy? Fiction? Joke? Reality? Fact is that NGamer magazine has tweeted that they've received word from an inside source at Nintendo that Sonic will be appearing in Super Mario Galaxy 2:

We've just had some shocking news from an inside source at Nintendo: Sonic will be a playable character in Mario Galaxy 2! Wha?

More teasing from our insider: Sonic levels will be in 'Green Hill Galaxy'. Matthew's nearly in tears (of despair)

Sega has released multiple games where Sonic got teamed up in some form or another with Mario, but Nintendo doing the same?
