Sony, Midway, Ubisoft bully EGM

Posted on Wednesday, 9 January 2008 by Speed, source: VGMWatch
EGM has come out and spilled the beans on the bullies called Sony, Ubisoft and Midway.

In the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, editor-in-chief Dan “Shoe” Hsu has written a column on how the above mentioned companies decided to no longer provide the magazine with review material after receiving poor review scores.

According to Hsu, Midway’s Mortal Kombat development team, Sony’s sports game division, and Ubisoft have all allegedly banned EGM from further coverage of their products. The reason: Apparently, they didn’t take too kindly to EGM’s review coverage of their games. Still, Hsu maintains that EGM “won’t treat these products or companies any differently.”
Not the first time we hear stuff like this and it probably won't be the last time either. Still, it's always sad to see companies react in such a way. I mean, it's one thing to complain about badly written articles and another to ban a publication because you don't agree with their opinion

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't the last we hear about this case.

This won't last long. The companies will apologize in response to bad press, And EGM will rate their next big budget game with a really high score in return. ~Electric
