Sony: Move won't be a Day One success
Sony Entertainment's Ray Maguire has said he doesn't expect the Playstation Move to become a Day One success.
Maguire made the comparison with EyeToy: both are devices that need to convince you once you've played with them. Mouth-to-mouth advertising will do its job as time passes.

“Exactly as with EyeToy in the PS2 days, it’s a product that needs to be sampled. You need to get your hands on it. You need to understand it. You need to try it,”
“Am I expecting a massive day one? Not particularly. We didn’t with EyeToy, either. It went on to be massively successful, as people saw the value when they tried it they told their friends. Their friends bought it. They told their friends.“Word of mouth grew the marketplace. That’s what I expect from Move as well.”
The hype surrounding 3D has settled down a bit as well and Maguire can also explain that:“Am I expecting a massive day one? Not particularly. We didn’t with EyeToy, either. “Really, it will be about where 3D enhances the experience,” said Maguire.“Definitely about how it immerses you into the game. If you get more immersed into the game and it adds value that way, then the answer is yes. If it’s just nice to have, then maybe not.”
To be honest: Move sounds to me like an enhanced EyeToy (and so does Kinect for that matter - wouldn't want the Sony fanboys accusing me of taking preference ;p)In other news:
