Sony: UMD is alive

UMD still kicking ass according to Sony

Sony Entertainment said during a session at GDC last week that people shouldn't be worried about the UMD format as it's still alive and well.

The session was meant to inform independent developers about the marketplace advantages that exist on the PlayStation platform. When discussing the PSP, the company said its UMD format is "alive and well" and that all retail games will continue to be available on both a UMD disc and digitally on the PlayStation Network store.

I'm sure it's alive and well seeing that the PSP Go (which doesn't have UMD) isn't doing so great and being outsold by its older brother still.
