Sony comments on X360 Elite

Posted on Wednesday, 28 March 2007 by Speed, source: 1Up
After Microsoft's official unveiling of the XBox360 Elite, 1Up managed to speak with Sony's Dave Karraker, Senior Director of Corporate Communications who stated the following:

"[The Elite 360] just validates the same business model they were decrying back in November. They said that consumers don't need HDMI, now they have HDMI. They said that 20 Gig was enough to host downloadable content and now they are upgrading that, too. To borrow from my friends at Nintendo, it's kind of a 'me too' side."

I completely agree that it's a "me too" offer, but I hardly think Sony should be the one pointing that out seeing how familiar they are with that concept...

Metallic material price > polymer price.

And think about it, its a game console, how much stiffness and tension do you want?

Elite = regular DVD drive and HDMI 1.2, PS3 = BLu-Ray drive and HDMI 1.3. Microsoft is just talking bs right now I wouldn't be surprised to see an Ultra Elite version next year once they finally decide to include a Blu-Ray or an HD-DVD drive.
