Sony slashes thousands
To combat the financial crisis, Sony has announced they'll be sending no less than around 8000 people Home to play with their PS3 by 2010.
"In order to stay competitive in the accelerating global network environment, we will always carefully review and make structural changes, if necessary, in order to further expand and strengthen the PlayStation business around the world,"
The Sony Computer Entertainment which is responsible for the Playstation3 will face reorganisation along with the rest of the company but analysts believe the layoffs will not be enough but what do they know? It's not like they predicted the entire world would face a huge economical crysis thanks to banks going bankrupt, now did they?In other news:

Jokes aside, Sony's PS3 relied on other successful parts of Sony's business to stay afloat (TVs, electronics, ect). Now that their overall business has gone down their pretty much screwed.

I think Sony shot themselves in the foot with the PS3, the economic recession shot their other foot.
