Sony starts "Network Pass Program"
Sony has confirmed that they'll soon start with the so-called network pass program, and that with the release of Resistance 3.
The news came after some people saw that the game's hardware bundle mentioned a PSN Pass.
According to Sony they'll start with Insomniac's shooter to "accellerate on their promises to improve paying services in their first party line-up".
Nothing that other publishers haven't done already, but now that Sony is starting with it as well we think it will become standard practise for just about all games. Too bad as what are they going to do with big families or when the authentication servers are down?

“We are always evaluating new programs for our online offering, and starting with Resistance 3 this September, we will be instituting a network pass program for PS3 games with online capabilities.
This program will be game-specific. Games that are a part of this program will include a single-use registration code that grants the account holder redeeming the code full online access for that title.
This is an important initiative as it allows us to accelerate our commitment to enhancing premium online services across our first party game portfolio.”
In other words: second hand hames from Sony won't cost you more, but if you want to use DLC or online gameplay you'll have to pay for a new code to activate those parts. This program will be game-specific.
