Sony vs. LG: Playstation3 available again
Strike one for Sony in the legal battle against LG.
The court in Den Haag today ruled that LG’s injunction against Sony that got no less than 300.000 PS3's seized by authorities at the port of Rotterdam and Schiphol had to be lifted with immediate effect.
To make things even better: for every day LG doesn't get the seizure lifted with the Dutch tax authorities, the company has to pay a fine of 200.000 euros. They also have to pay already 130.000 euros of legal fees.
This isn't the end, however. Sony can resume distribution of PS3s in Europe, but there will still be a fully-fledged court case to determine whether Sony indeed owes LG money for patent infringement and if so, how much.
