Everyone knows Counter-Strike (if not: shame!), it's legendary. Half-Life 2 is coming up soon, so with that an all new version of CS. All new? No, it's not gonna be CS2, but just a remake of the first one, using the new Source engine. Big boss at Valve Gabe Newell confirmed it this morning at E3 (where else? ;)). Together with some HL² gameplay footage he showed cs_aztec running in Source.

It's not going to be a free update (CS itself was already free), there'll be two ways to get it. One is the retail version, the other - oh no - is Steam. It's gonna be released when HL² is, end this summer.

The plans are to Source everything Half-Life. This means that we've got tweaked versions of HL, TF, Opposing Force, and Blue Shift coming at us soon. The price isn't known yet, but rumours go that it'll be a standard budget-price.

*sigh* Steam...
