Splinter Cell 5 moved to 2008

Together with some financial figures (which were extremely good) Ubisoft has announced the delay on the fifth part in the Splinter Cell series.

Conviction was supposed to appear in October or November, but now the PC and X360 version are being moved to March 2008.

Originally scheduled for release between October and November, the Xbox 360 and PC stealth action game Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction has been pushed back a quarter; Ubisoft now expects the game to see release by the end of March 2008. It could have some similarly themed company on the new-release shelves, as Ubisoft's newest Tom Clancy brand extension, EndWar, is set to arrive on next-gen consoles in spring of 2008.

And now, some little trivia fun fact thingy: 2007 is the first year since the turn of the century in which no new Tom Clancy game was released. We're not talking about GRAW 2 and RS:Vegas here because those are no new franchises.
