Spore DRM will drop one restriction

After all the commotion, complaints and Electronic Arts defending themselves through developers and producers, they now have responded with an official interview. Following the usual 'we love our customers' and 'pirates are evil' PR stuff, the EA representative had this to say about the install limitations:

...“Spore” is “very similar to a solution that iTunes has. The difference is that with iTunes you can de-authorize a computer [that you no longer want associated with your iTunes content]. Right now, with our solution, you can’t. But there is a patch coming for that.” The official timeframe for that patch is “near future.”...

So, a big 'Yay' to that for starters.

Further into the interview she also juggled around with some 'sampling' numbers. That means they are an indication, not definite. She stated that 86% of the customers activated it on 1 PC, whilst only 0.4% tried to activate it on more than 3 PC's.

There you go, EA is always right! They said so themselves!
