Square-Enix still going after Eidos
Posted on Friday, 13 February 2009 by Speed, source: Gamesindustry.biz
Square-Enix has made a firm offer to take over Eidos.
Although Warner recently increased its stake in the publisher and has since made announcements of a reboot of the Tomb Raider films, Warner is not interested in completely taking over Eidos and as such Eidos' board has promised to propose Square-Enix' offering to its shareholders.

Meanwhile, everyone's favorite analyst, Wedbush' Michael Pachter has given his opinion already and it's a positive one:
"The total cost is relatively small, essentially the cost of buying a middle of the road developer, so I would say it's a good deal for Square Enix. My view is that they are buying the company for the existing franchises, so I wouldn't expect to see any of them killed off."
"Broader is better, in my view, so a combination should make Square Enix stronger," he added
For the shareholders this could also be a good deal as Square-Enix is giving a higher price than current stocks are going for."Broader is better, in my view, so a combination should make Square Enix stronger," he added
