Episodic Final Fantasy?

Square-Enix CEO Phil Rogers said in an interview that the company is looking to making their games in episodic fashion in the next three years:

"Will we see our games split into episodes? It's not something that we are particularly planning, but I've no doubt that we will be over the next three years,"

He also stated that DLC is one of the major things the publisher is working on:

"Digital is now a massive part of our focus. How we offer content to consumers via digital download is very important to us, and premium downloadable content is an absolute must for the titles that we launch."

Just imagine Final Fantasy XIII in episodic way. I wonder how many people would want episode 2 if the first episode lasts 10 hours of storytelling with the second being more of that and only as of part 3 things becoming more interesting and fun.
