Square-Enix wants Tecmo

Things aren't about to calm down just yet for Tecmo.

After a lawsuit by Ninja Gaiden creator Tomonobu Itagaki and the subsequent resignation of Tecmo's president, Reuters is reporting that Square-Enix has Tecmo in its crosshairs and aims to take over the company.

Japanese video game maker Square Enix Co said on Friday it seeks to buy more than half of game developer Tecmo to improve its global competitiveness, in a deal worth at least $102 million.

Unlike EA trying to take over Take2, this seems to be a more friendly offer for a takeover though. Square-Enix stated that if Tecmo's management does not respond to the offer, or rejects it, they will not pursue the bid.
