Starbreeze to create next-gen The Darkness videogame

The Darkness, a major American comic series from Top Cow, is going to get its own videogame on the next-generation consoles in 2006.
Majesco is the publisher and Swedish Starbreeze Studios will be developing the game. Starbreeze is especially known from The Chronicles of Riddick game which was received quite well on PC and Xbox. The 3D engine of the Riddick-game will be used in The Darkness too.
More details will probably pop up soon enough (or will be shown at the E3). Besides a videogame for next year, The Darkness fans will also get to enjoy a movie-adaptation of their favourite comic in 2007.

Throughout the game, players must learn to control and harness The Darkness power in order to overthrow the vicious mob boss and fulfill their destiny.
Non-linear gameplay, first and third person mayhem in single and multiplayer modes should give any gamer enough satisfaction. The story/dialogue writer will be Paul Jenkins, who is known for his work on the comics too. More details will probably pop up soon enough (or will be shown at the E3). Besides a videogame for next year, The Darkness fans will also get to enjoy a movie-adaptation of their favourite comic in 2007.
