Stardock hires sci-fi writer and former Civ designer

John Shafer, who recently left Firaxis, has found a new home.
The former lead designer on Civilization has been hired by Stardock, makers of Galactic Civilizations and Sins of a Solar Empire, where he'll eventually lead his own team:

Shafer will be helping with the design and increasing mod support for Elemental. At some point in the future he will also be leading his own team at Stardock on an unnanounced new stand alone game for the developer.
Meanwhile, Stardock has also announced they've hired sci-fi author Dave Stern to "oversee creative storytelling and lore implementation in all future projects, including the recently launched Elemental: War of Magic"In other news:
