Posted on Tuesday, 24 August 2004 by Ryuken, source: Fragland
After Stronghold and Stronghold: Crusader a new Stronghold has been announced namely Stronghold 2. Firefly Studios is again the developer of this new instalment in the Stronghold-franchise (which till now was already good for more than 1.5 million sold units worldwide).

You can see the first two screenshots of this game below:

Stronghold 2 is in full 3D as you can see and it will have improved multiplayer options, an innovative singleplayer campaign and a 'castle-life' campaign. Simon Bradbury from Firefly Studios tells us more:

"We decided to steer away from the typical RTS mold when we developed the original Stronghold," said Simon Bradbury, Director at Firefly Studios. "Now, with a 3D engine that can render tens of thousands of animated characters on-screen simultaneously, we can explore the intricacies of castle-life and the machinations of siege-warfare like never before in Stronghold 2. Once again we will take the Stronghold franchise into new and exciting territory."

Stronghold 2 is planned for 2005.
