Subliminal Messaging can save your social live

Posted on Friday, 16 March 2007 by Anneleen, source: Game Politics
Gaming requires a lot of time while you're 'out there' on the battlefield, but for some it goes too far. Those people sacrifice their social live.

A Korean company has a solution. It has patented a technique to make gamers give up gaming. By subliminal messaging will from 10,000 to 20,000 times be advised to pause the game. Consequently the gamer gets the feeling he's bored and wants to stop.

We incorporated messages into an acoustic sound wave telling gamers to stop playing. The messages are told 10,000 to 20,000 times per second. Game users can’t recognize the sounds. But their subconscious is aware of them and the chances are high they will quit playing.

Wether people will want to use this technique is another question, of course.

I don't think the idea was that game developers would do this. The idea is that the gamers would run this soundtrack while playing their most addictive games to stop themselves from playing. I don't see anything about developers implementing this.
