Super Street Fighter IV not coming to PC until piracy gets fixed

Posted on Wednesday, 22 September 2010 by Speed, source: AndriaSang
Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono stated in an interview with 4Gamers that unless the company finds some great copy-protection system, Super Street Fighter IV won't be heading to PC after all.
In a 4gamer interview today, series producer Yoshinori Ono said that, due to high piracy with the PC version of the original Street Fighter IV, there are currently no plans for a PC version of Super.

Ono didn't totally rule out a PC release. If they were to find some sort of powerful copy protection solution, the PC version's status could change, he said. He explained that the arcade version already runs on Taito's DirectX-based Type X2 arcade board, so a PC version is already 99% ready.
Ono also said that the PC version of Street Fighter IV sold pretty good worldwide, but unfortunately also ranked number 1 in the piracy charts.

Options:
1. Spend large amounts of money on protection only for it to be cracked within a few days. More sales, less piracy. Still profit.

2. Spend nothing on piracy protection. Save money, more piracy and less sales. Still prift.

3. Do nothing. No sales, no piracy.

Some companies are so concerned about piracy they forget their core goal of actually earning profits.
