Supreme Commander shows itself
Posted on Thursday, 11 May 2006 by Ryuken, source: SupComUniverse
Some members of the fansite SupComUniverse have managed to film the full E3-trailer of the sci-fi RTS Supreme Commander, which is the spiritual successor to Total Annihilation, one of the absolute highlights of the real-time strategy genre.
It's a low-res, shaky cam movie (27 MB) and you'll need to get it through a torrent (don't worry, there are enough seeders) but it already gives a very satisfying look. The action is very omni-present as two sides (Cybran versus UEF) 'meet' each other on sea, in the air and especially on land. The music is confirmed to be that of Jeremy Soule. The big zoom function seems to do it's work too, we can only hope this game will run smooth enough on the average PC. Dual monitor support has also been confirmed, just as the likely possibility for modders to adjust the interface.
A full, official high-resolution version of the trailer will be released after the E3-show. Below are some new screenshots of the same scene as that found in the trailer. At the bottom of this post you can see some artwork for each of the three different sides in this game.
