Vista will allow 64-bit computing which means a lot more calculations than in 32-bit and those calculations need to be stored in the ram.

The size of install is just insane...

If the calculations are stored in the Register of the CPU what are the RAM used for then, huh ?!?

All calculations made by the processor are stored for later retrival since retrival is faster than re-calculation and all those calculations are stored in the RAM (RAM is just a poor and slow substitude for the CPU's internal cache) - and 64-bit systems make a hell of a lot more calculations than a 32-bit system so they process much more data hence greater RAM requirements.

What is 15gig?! If that's the only worry you've got, you can be very happy! The size of the installation shouldn't matter as long as it runs okay and doesn't do any funny business.

I'm amazed that this 15gig is the only thing you talk about when there are a lot more important things that could be 'wrong' with it.
