THQ in big trouble
Things aren't going so well for THQ and the company has now announced they'll be firing 240 people.
A regulatory filing has revealed 240 sales, general and administrative personnel worldwide will be laid off. Most of these should be completed by March.
CEO Brian Farrell has also agreed with a 50% less base sallary but don't worry, he won't become poor overnight. His wage will go down to $359,250, for a one-year period beginning February 13, 2012. Another detail: February 13, 2013, Farrell will see his wage reviewed and it will at the very least be the same as he was getting originally. Yes, you read that correct, his sallary will return to original amount OR be increased even.
Meanwhile, THQ's stocks face a delisting at NASDAQ. The company now has until July 23 to maintain a share price of $1 per share for 10 consecutive days. Otherwise the stocks will be removed from the Nasdaq exchange.
