Take 2 CEO: We won't bring annual updates of big franchises
Speaking at the Reuters Global Media Summit, Take 2 CEO Strauss Zelnick said that the publisher has no intention on releasing new versions of their big hit franchises like Grand Theft Auto on a yearly basis:
Zelnick said the company doesn't plan to release new versions of its top-selling games every year, the way Activision Blizzard Inc has successfully done with the "Call of Duty" franchise.
Zelnick said "annualizing" games threatens their quality and risks burning out consumers.
