As you might know, Microsoft is pulling the plug out of their original Xbox Live support. In other words you won't be able to go online anymore with your first xbox nor play the original Xbox games anymore. They have to do this, because they want to make some infrastructure changes that will help with for example increasing the Friends list.

One of the rare games that was still played by countless of players was Halo 2. Microsoft is aware of this and to make it up a bit with their 'loyal fans', they'll give them a present.

They will get an invite for the Halo: Reach beta, which will start on 3th May and normally only available for owners of Halo 3: ODST. Besides that they will also receive 3 months of Xbox Live Gold and 400 Microsoft Points.

The Halo 2 servers will close down on the 15th of April and those who are considered 'loyal' will soon receive an e-mail send by Microsoft.
