The Saboteur sabotages ATI
The Saboteur doesn't like ATI vidcards
It is not a small bug; rather, if you have an ATI video card and either Windows 7 or Windows Vista, the majority (90%) of users have the game crash after the title screen. Since the marketshare for ATI is nearly equal to that of Nvidia, and the ATI logo is adorning the front page of the Saboteur website, it seems like quite a large mistake to release the game in its current state.
A patch apparently is being worked on and is in the QA stage, but there appears to be some workaround as well that might work: as it seems to impact mostly multi-core system, shut down all but one cores in your pc. It might work but only on certain systems.Electronic Arts closed Pandemic Studios right after development of The Saboteur was finished. I guess some more testing and keeping on employees for just a few days/weeks longer would have been the smarter choice...
