The Witcher, a successful RPG which we reviewed back in November 2007 and quite loved, was relaunched in the US yesterday. This Enhanced Edition was announced in February of this year and promised to get address all of the criticism the original received.

Because making a game, releasing it with (minor) flaws and then re-releasing after a year of using customers as beta testers yet still using the same price tag sounded a bit too much like a scam, they also promised an overhaul of the graphics engine and a re-do of the whole English dialogue. Add some new quest lines and, BAM, new game is ready to make profit out of those that did not buy it the first time around.

Small detail, when the game went live in the US yesterday, the whole game seemed to lack blood.
So Shacknews had a word with marketing VP Tom Ohle to ask what was up and he responded this:They already released a fix for the Enhanced Edition but they were unsure how it would affect those that will download the free patch to the original game.
