Say bye to the WoW account

Blizzard Entertainment announced today that all existing World of Warcraft accounts will be merged together into the new Battle.net by November 11th of this year.

After that date, all WoW players will have to log in through a Battle.net username and password. Everyone that wants to create a new account will of course first have to make a Battle.net account.

Battle.net will be the new standard for all upcoming Blizzard games (like Starcraft II)

How much u wanna bet Battle.net is going to compete with Steam? Seems like they are setting up for something bigger than just a way to log in and play Blizzard games.
