Lists should always be taken with a grain of salt, but it seems that neither Skyrim nor Battlefield 3 were the most pirated game of 2011. Nope, it was...Crysis 2.
According to Torrentfreak, this undervalued game was downloded about 3.92 million times. Modern Warfare 3 came second with 3.65 million, while Battlefield 3 "scored" 3.5 million downloads.
On the Wii it's Super Mario Galaxy that tops the chart with 1.18 million downloads, followed by Mario Sports Mix, Xenoblade Chronicles, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean and FIFA 12 with 860.000.
For Xbox 360 the questionable honor goes to Gears of War 3 with MW3 and BF3 as the rest of the top 3. The games were leeched respectively 890.000, 830.000 and 760.000 times through the internet.
TorrentFreak did not provide numbers regarding PS3.
